P. Slovak:
"Supporting counsellors' training through technology";
Talk: Culture Lab Guest Seminar, Culture Lab, Newcastle University, UK (invited); 2014-01-24.

English abstract:
Understanding how counselling students learn and are taught interpersonal skills, and how technology could support this is still not well understood. I will describe a research project in which we aimed to gain deep understanding of the learning processes of counselling students, for whom developing interpersonal skills forms a fundamental part of their university education. We followed an iterative process to gain an in-depth understanding of a specific counselling program in the UK, combining interviews and low-fidelity technology prompts. I will describe the resulting design in detail.
