English abstract:
Due to the requirement of increasingly lower C02 emissions, the demand for
alternative vehicle concepts is rising. The hybridization and electrification
of the powertrain especially in urban areas is a promising solution. However,
some challenges are related to the electrification. Particularly at the
operation and thermal management strategy, the complexity increases significantly. In order to analyze and optimize electrified powertrains, the use
of numerical simulation methods is reasonable. This work deals with the development and application of such methods for an electro-hybrid powertrain. The influences of the component dimcnsioning, the thermal management and the operating strategy are considered. The developed simulation models of the ICE and vehicle were calibrated using engine and chassis dynamometer tests.
The numerical optimization of the electro-hybrid powertrain is the main
part of the work. For this purpose, numerical optimization software has been
developed based on heuristic optimization methods and artificial neural networks. To consider different conditions in the optimization of the powertraiμ, different ambient temperatures and velocity profiles were specified. The results showed a significant optimization potential, especially at low ambient tem peratures. lt could be shown that the comprehensive numerical simulation model is a suitable tool for analyzing different operating strategies, components and thermal management innovations. Together with the developed optimization software, the components and the operating strategy of the electro-hybrid powertrain could be further optimized efficiently. This will be shown by an alternative optimization process analysis based on self-organizing maps.
