"Numerical Optimization of Electro Hybrid Powertrains";
MTZ worldwide, 76 (2015), 3; 46 - 52.

English abstract:
In the future, the number of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles will further increase in order to fulfil CO2 legislation. The complexity of electrified powertrains makes it difficult to optimise the vehicle performance and the thermal management efficiently due to the high number of degrees-of-freedom.

Therefore, a tailor-made optimisation tool was developed at the Vienna University of Technology to optimise the efficiency of an
electrified powertrain while considering comfort functions like
the heating of the driver cabin.

Keywords:
numerical optimization, electro hybrid powertrains
