"Editorial Special Issue on Official Statistics";
Austrian Journal of Statistics, 43 (2014), 1; S. 1.

This is my first volume as the new editor of the Austrian Journal of Statistics. Naturally,
some changes have been realized concerning the style and public appearance of the journal.
The most visible changes belong to the font of the manuscripts and the new website of
the journal. This website includes an editorial system for submission and paper handling.

I want to take the opportunity to express my thanks to the former editor, Herwig Friedl.
He has given great support to make the transition of the editorship as smooth as possible.
Herwig Friedl successfully published the journal in the last 10 years.
In addition I want to thank the guest editors for their professional work and perfect
collaboration regarding this special issue, which is related to official statistics and survey
methodology.
