English abstract:
This study analyses the performance of ducted and ductless personal ventilation (PV) systems. Two laboratory mock-up office spaces identical in geometry and layout were equipped with the devices and necessary measurement equipment. One room is equipped with ducted PV, whereas the other one has a more flexible ductless version with a supporting fan installed on the floor below the table. In this case conventional displacement ventilation (DV) outlet provides fresh outside air. With suitable supply air temperature and speed, the fresh air is expected to move across the room close to the floor level and thus be used by the ductless system to provide fresh air to the userīs breathing zone. Performance of the two systems is evaluated via objective evaluation by measurements and subjective evaluation based on feedback from a group of test participants. This paper presents and discusses the results of the assessments of the two PV systems.
