Kurzfassung englisch:
The manufacturing costs for a passive HF RFID card can be significantly reduced through the use of a nongalvanic coupling between the chip and the coil on the card. Additionally, a series lumped capacitor is used to enhance the power transfer to the chip. However, the system becomes more complex as it contains many additional parameters which makes it more difficult to reach an optimum design that maximizes power transfer over a certain bandwidth. Therefore, we present our theoretical analysis to optimize the values of such a design with respect to the delivered voltage and bandwidth. The results are verified through HFSS 3D electromagnetic field simulation and ADS circuit simulation. Furthermore, measurements have been conducted for a manufactured card with an actual chip.
