"Localization enhancement in the Kondo insulator CeRu4Sn6";
Vortrag: XV Brazilian MRS Meeting, Campinas, Sao Paulo / Brasilien; 25.09.2016 - 29.09.2016.

Kurzfassung englisch:
The tetragonal compound CeRu4Sn6 appears to show signatures of Kondo insulator with nontrivial topology [1, 2]. To shed further light on the role of hybridization plays in the Kondo insulator state, we have performed electrical transport and challenging specific heat measurements under both hydrostatic and uniaxial pressures on single crystals.

Hydrostatic pressure experiments have been performed using a piston CuBe cylinder clamp cell. Here, the application of pressure is homogenously distributed in all direction of the sample by using kerosene as pressure transmitting medium. On the other hand, in order to disentangle the effect of anisotropy in the physical properties of CeRu4Sn6, we applied uniaxial pressure along c axis. In this case, a regular shape of sample 1mm x 1mm x 1mm is compressed without spatial surrounding constrains.

At ambient pressure, we inferred a low incoherent Kondo temperature (TLK) and a weak local magnetic moment (µ). The increase of hybridization by pressure uncovers the presence of unusual in-gap states which seemingly does not depend on disorder effects. We discuss our findings in the context of weak localization in topological Kondo Insulators.
