Kurzfassung englisch:
Underestimation of tree and shrub heights for different airborne laser scanner systems is a well reported characteristic. In this study reference data was produced by a novel UAV-borne laser scanning (ULS) with an extremely high point density in the complete vegetation column. This was used to investigate the penetration in the vegetation column of an airborne topographic (ALS) and topo-bathymetric (ALB) system. The degree of underestimation depends on vegetation structure and attributes of the laser scanning system.
