By definition, every system produces synergy. In social systems it is the commons that yields the synergy. A Global Sustainable Information Society must take care of the societal commons.

Die Existenzberechtigung eines jeden Systems ist der Synergieeffekt, der für dessen Elemente entsteht. Kann dieser nicht mehr gewährleistet werden, bricht das System zusammen. Der Synergieeffekt bei sozialen Systemen liegt in den Commons. Eine globale nachhaltige Informationsgesellschaft muss die Commons kultivieren.
