Investigationsonthesynthesisofbi-ortri-metallicalloynanoparticleshavebeenrelativelylimited.
Thus, wepresenthereresultsofexperimentstosynthesizeSn-30Zn-10Cu(wt%)nanopowderalloysby
chemical reduction.CharacterizationbyelectronmicroscopyandpowderX-raydiffractionshowedthat
nanoparticles withanaveragediameterof20nmwereobtained.Microstructureandphaseevolutionof
the as-synthesizedparticlesuponheatingwereinvestigatedandcomparedwiththecorrespondingbulk
alloy.Theresultsshowedthatthenanoparticlescontainallthreeconstituents(i.e.Sn,ZnandCu),possess
a core-shellmorphologyandexhibitaphaseconfiguration differentfromthebulkalloy.
