Kurzfassung englisch:
This paper shows the investigation of green facades. The focus of the investigation is on the change of the heat demand in the winter. Supporters of façade greening claim that their systems can reduce the heat demand in the winter. But so far, there is no proof for that what causes a PhD-thesis which started in 2015 and is still going on. The heat flux through two greened facades in Vienna have been measured for one heating season. Also the surface temperatures on the facades and the air temperature of its surrounding (inside and outside) were measured. This insitu-measurements enabled to calculate U-values for the whole constructions. The same facades were investigated on parts which are not greened to compare them with the greened parts. The difference of the greened facade to the not greened facade could be calculated now. So far there does not exist a general method, how to calculate the U-value at greened facades. The method which is developed in this paper makes the comparison between the greened part of the façade and the not greened part possible. It turned out that there is a difference of the thermal resistance between greened and not greened parts of the façades in winter. It is between 0.31 m²K/W and 0.68 m²K/W depending on the greening system and its location.
