The invention relates to a method for the radical induced cationic frontal polymn. of cationically polymerizable monomers such as epoxides by a combination of at least one cationic polymn. initiator and at least one activator for the initiator, characterized in that benzopinacol (I) is used as the activator. Using I as activator provides a more uniform process without formation of gas byproducts.
