English abstract:
In this chapter, we describe a specific workflow for digitally documenting
large monuments and cultural heritage sites. We argue that for large sites
where the amount of gathered data is significant, a point-based processing
workflow from the beginning to the end is advantageous. In contrast to
the traditional approach of mesh-based cultural heritage documentation,
point-based processing allows easy visualization, exploration, and interac-
tion with huge models. We base our description on two concrete practical
example surveys.
