"Debonding on demand: irreversible approach via thermally induced gas formation & network regulation";

Kurzfassung englisch:
Photopolymerizable glues and cements that offer debonding on
demand (DoD) through an extrernal stimulus are of great interest
for the field of recycling and repair. State-of-the-art DoD solutions
usually require a high energy impulse (e.g., > 200ºC, strong force),
which causes problems when working with sensitive applications
such as microelectronics or dental medicine.

Herein, we present various blocked isocyanates (BlCs), which enable
DoD through thermally induced gas formation within a polymer
matrix at temperatures below 150ºC. To create a polymer network,
that enables DoD, a thermolabile photopolymerizable crosslinker was
prepared. Furthermore, a B-allyl sulfone-based chain transfer agent
was used to tune the final crosslinking density and thermomechanical
properties of the material, thus introducing a crosslinked
photopolymer with a defined network architecture as a potential glue
DoD.
