English abstract:
Autonomous power allocation is one of the available methods for ensuring coexistence in mixed-technology Vectoring multi-carrier digital subscriber line (DSL) networks. In this paper we experimentally study its effectiveness in a testbed with commercial equipment of the latest DSL technologies G.fast and Very-high speed DSL 2 (VDSL2) profile 35b. The results demonstrate a significant loss in bit-rate in DSL coexistence scenarios but also the possible protection of lines by deploying adaptive and autonomous power allocation and downstream power back-off or weighted rate and sum-power optimization.
