English abstract:
The present research aims to determine the market size regarding the Facility Service industry in terms of employees in the US, compared to the EU, with the help of scientific models and methods. Specifically, the principal objective is to analyze the US market of Facility Service industry. The project has been carried out with the support of Vienna University of Technology which analyzed how big is the outsourced FS industry in terms of employees in the EU and if there are already changes visible in the past years.
The automation of buildings, industry 4.0 and the foreseen increasing use of robots in Facility Management are ongoing changes that influence the level of employability. Thus, this study analyzes also how susceptible are jobs to computerisation in the US FS industry, which parts of jobs are going to disappear in the future years and what jobs will still be relevant.
Thereby, the project has been divided into different points structured as follows:

Introduction of the thesis. It provides the background of the study, presents the current state of the research problem.
Methodical approach. It is composed of the setting of the study, also includes literature study and method.
Analysis of data. Presents the results of the size of the Facility Service market in the US, suggestions for solutions and implementation approaches.
Comparison between the US and the EU systems.
Future employment rate for the Facility Services in the US due to computerization. Discussion of employment changes due to Industry 4.0, automation and digitalization.
Conclusion and critical discussion of the implication of theory, practice and research
