Issues such as densification, highrise buildings, urban planning by investors, the implementation of car free areas, tramways, suburbia or pedestrian friendly neighborhoods concern cities on both continents alike. Images of both, "European" and "American" elements of urbanity appear more and more on both sides of the Atlantic. The climatic change that leads to higher temperatures but also increased flooding risks has evident influences on infrastructural improvements and planning principles as well as technological changes and demographic developments.
