Kurzfassung englisch:
1. Synthesis and isolation of atomically designed Cox(SR)m and CoxAu25-x(SR)m clusters. Characterization and study of their physico-chemical properties by MALDI, UV-Vis, FTIR, PL and HPLC will be performed. Immobilization of cobalt nanoclusters will be performed on different kind of surfaces such as TiO2, CeO2 and SiO2 materials. The effect of surface properties and its interaction with the metal will be studied by Thermogravimetry (TG), Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR-CO), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Further studies will be performed by X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (EXAFS) at synchrotron facilities (SLS-PSI). The reactivity of the supported materials will be tested in CO oxidation and hydrogen evolution reactions.
