English abstract:
Calabi-Yau hypersurfaces in toric varieties can be described via
reflexive polytopes. A generalized construction involving reflexive
Gorenstein cones affords descriptions of Calabi-Yau manifolds of higher
codimension as well as Landau-Ginzburg models.
After reviewing some of the relevant concepts and the algorithm that led
to the classification of reflexive polytopes in three and four dimensions,
I will indicate how this algorithm needs to be be modified so that it can
be applied to reflexive Gorenstein cones. I will also point out open
classification problems that may well lie within the range of contemporary
computer power.
