This diploma thesis deals with the design of an open-air stage in the castle grounds of Eisenstadt. Eisenstadt is the provincial capital of Burgenland which is about fifty minutes away from Vienna. This village has been characterized by Franz Jospeh Hayds music, which has made Eisenstadt famous both national and international. The castle grounds, designed as an English landscape garden for the hungarian magnate family Esterházy, was praised far beyond the borders of Austria and Hungary. The design of this diploma thesis is located on the site of a former stadium. The construction of this stadium destroyed a wonderful place in the castle grounds. Not only a closure of a wound in the park but also creating an open-air stage for music concerts are the intentions of this design. The historical reasons, the inclusion into the terrain as well as diversity in the seating arrangement of the open-air stage are some of the points the design of this diploma thesis adresses.

Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit befasst sich mit dem Entwurf einer Freilichtbühne im Schlosspark von Eisenstadt. Eisenstadt ist die Landeshauptstadt des Burgenlands und ist in etwa 50 Minuten von Wien zu erreichen. Geprägt wurde Eisenstadt von Franz Joseph Haydns Musik, welche diesen Ort national, sowie international bekannt gemacht hat. Der Schlosspark, als englischer Landschaftsgarten für die ungarische Magnatenfamilie Esterházy angelegt, wurde weit über die Grenzen Österreichs und Ungarns hinaus berühmt. Der Entwurf dieser Diplomarbeit bezieht sich auf die Stelle eines ehemaligen Stadions. Mit dem Bau des Stadions inmitten des Parks zerstörte man einen wunderbaren Ort. Dieser Entwurf soll diese Zerstörung, sozusagen die Wunde im Park, schließen und gleichzeitig eine Freilichtbühne für Musikkonzerte schaffen. Historische Wegenetze, Einfügung in das Gelände sowie Diversität in der Sitzplatzgestaltung des Konzertbesuchs sind einige der Punkte im Entwurf.
