"C-Masteralloys - Can They Substitute Graphite in PM Steels";
Vortrag: PM AUTO 2018 - 6th international Conference on Powder Metallurgy for Automotive Parts, Isfahan, Iran; 16.04.2018 - 18.04.2018.

Kurzfassung englisch:
It has been shown, that the C-masteralloys are a possible alternative to introduce carbon in PM steels. For Fe-C steels the properties are at least comparable, if not better. The low compressibilitys of the master alloy can be compensated by a little higher shrinkage, but finally comparable densities are reached. For Fe-Cu-C it is expected from the MA to act in the same way, so this system has been implemented into this investigation due to the fact that the majority of the produced PM parts consist of this alloying system. The novel technique of ultra high water pressure atomization (UHPWA) allows to produce these masteralloys in sizes below 25 µm at reasonable prices. The desoxidation behavior and various mechanical properties has been studied to verify the competitiveness of the masteralloy approach.
