"Adaptive boundary element methods";
Keynote Lecture: AANMPDE 11 - 11th Workshop on Analysis and Advanced Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations (not only) for Junior Scientists,
In our talk, we intend to present the state of the art on adaptive boundary element methods
(adaptive BEMs). To this end, we shall give a brief introduction to BEM (if needed). Then, we
discuss some a-posteriori error estimators, which have been proposed and analyzed in the
literature. Finally, we shall present the concept of quasi-optimal convergence of adaptive BEM
together with recent results on the interplay of adaptivity and iterative solvers.
