English abstract:
Arterial blood pressure and its wave shape depend on the locations and magnitudes of wave reflections. Besides points of impedance mismatch in the arterial tree, re-reflections at the aortic valve should be considered. To study pulse wave transmission and reflection, mathematical models are needed. Often partial differential equations of rather high complexity and simulation effort are used. The aim of this work is to investigate the ability of difference equations as a more simple and comprehensible modelling technique for wave transmission and reflection.
