Kurzfassung englisch:
The presence of pollutants and toxic substances diffused from various sources in the ecosystem results severe environmental hazard, which increases day by day and causes irreparable damage not only to the environment and also to the living organisms including human beings. In view of population growth and economic development, Water contamination is a biggest threat to the environment and its availability with good quality and adequate quantity is vital concern for human life and other forms of lives. In the present day situation, the quality of water has adversely affected by various pollutants from industrial, agricultural and domestic activities. The health risks to the public which can be associated with consumption of the contaminated water arised from microbial pathogens, toxic chemicals, and heavy metals in the polluted water. Among the various industries, textile and chemical industries (dyestuffs manufacturing industries) contributing major contamination in the total contamination of surface water with chemicals and dyes.
