Kurzfassung englisch:
After introducing the spin-crossover phenomenon the focus will be on the case of iron(II) complexes with N1-substituted tetrazole ligands as versatile building blocks for homologous series of compounds aiming for a structure - property relationship. Synthetic challenges as well as several characterization techniques will be presented. With respect to possible applications e.g. as molecular switches the challenges and chances are evaluated and discussed.
