Auf den Spuren von Mike Davis breit diskutierten Buch "City of Quartz- Ausgrabung der Zukunft in Los Angeles" konzentriert sich dies Arbeit auf die Auswirkungen von Politik und ökonomischer Globalisierung auf verschedene Segmente der Istanbuler Gesellschaft, deren alltagsleben und Kampf um eine bessere Stadt für dei nächsten Genrationen.

Istanbul is the world's 8th most populous metropolis with an estimated 15 Million people. With great sums of people, comes great responsibility. Architects, urban planners and other decision makers try -in their own way and agenda- to make this grand city a livable environment for its residents. Or do they? If you ask the residents , not many would speak fondly of said
"professionals". According to the people, the city drifts into an unbearable state of chaos every single day. In 2016, for the first time in its history, the number of people who moved out of Istanbul was actually higher than the incoming.

Following the footsteps of Mike Davis´s broadly discussed book "City of Quartz: Excavating the Future in Los Angeles" , this thesis focuses on the impact of politics and economical globalization upon different segments Istanbul´s society, while focusing on their struggles of every day life and the fight for leaving a better city for the next generations.
