SCOPE: This chapter addresses the representation of people's presence and behavior in building performance simulation.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: The main objective of this chapter is to provide a conceptual framework to systematically situate people in the context of building performance simulation. Toward this end, the motivation behind and the methodological options for the representation of inhabitants' presence and behavior in buildings are discussed.
