Biodegradable photopolymers based on acetal building blocks as artificial bone grafts.
High demand for bone grafts due to increasing life expectancy
Requirements: biocompatibility and degradability
− degradation behavior: pH of about 4.5, adapted to the acidic environment of osteoclasts in bone[1] (Fig. 1)
− polyesters, commonly used as biomaterials for TE only cleave very slowly under these conditions
