The measure turning right on red traffic lights (RTOR) is relatively new and it has not been implemented in many countries yet. This thesis gives an overview of already implemented projects in Belgium, France and the Netherlands as well as of the pilot project which is still in the testing phase in Switzerland (Basel). Furthermore the thesis contains an outline of the RTOR in Germany, Canada and USA, which is not only valid for cyclists. In addition to the literature research, surveys of two intersections in Vienna were conducted in order to estimate the current situation of the number of red riders and the number of conflicts caused through the red riding.

Da die Maßnahme Rechtsabbiegen bei Rot für RadfahrerInnen noch relativ neu ist und noch nicht in vielen Ländern umgesetzt wurde, bietet diese Arbeit einen Überblick der bereits bestehenden Regelungen in Belgien, Frankreich, den Niederlanden und des noch in der Pilotphase befindlichen Projektes in der Schweiz (Basel). Des Weiteren wird ein kurzer Eindruck über das Rechtsabbiegen bei Rot in Deutschland, Kanada und den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika, welche nicht nur für RF gilt vermittelt. Zusätzlich zu dieser Literaturrecherche wurden Erhebungen von RotfahrerInnen an zwei Knotenpunkten in Wien durchgeführt, um die Anzahl an RotfahrerInnen und die Anzahl an (Verkehrs-) Konflikten einschätzen zu können.
