"Momentum Broadening in a Highly Diluted Glasma";

Kurzfassung englisch:
The Colour Glass Condensate is a model that describes high energy nuclei in the framework of a classical field theory. When two such nuclei collide, they create the Glasma, which is the non-equilibrium precursor state of the Quark Gluon Plasma. Hard-scattering of two partons leads to jets of particles, which can reach a detector. The shape of a jet is influenced by the interactions of its generating parton during the earliest stages after the collision, more precisely by the momentum broadening of the parton in the Glasma.

The Yang-Mills equations and the corresponding initial conditions determine the dynamics of the Glasma. They are expanded in the particle density of the incoming nuclei and solved up to second order. With the help of this solution, an analytical result is obtained for the momentum broadening of a test parton in the Glasma. This result is compared to the momentum broadening that is extracted from a lattice simulation of the Glasma. We find that for a weakly interacting Glasma - a highly diluted one - the two results are in good agreement.
