English abstract:
Study on roll-off cars. Part 1: Basics and driving-dynamics input parameter

Despite all preventive safety measures currently available, it can happen that single rail cars or a group of cars accidentally roll off the tracks and can cause dangerous situations. In the first part of the report, there is a summary on the possibilities for stopping the cars and for detecting the rolled-off cars. An additional topic of discussion from the view of driving dynamics is the effect a roll-off incident can have and which technical resistances act in standstill.
