Environmental noise by high-speed railway lines in Austria

For quantifying environmental noise, some noise indicators which have been associated with harmful effects were defined in the regulation 2002/49/EG. For calculating these noise indicators, it is inevitable to be aware of the sound emission of the individual railway line. The issue of the new set of rules RVE 04.01.02 allows a forecast of the emission of every rail car. Additionally, it also allows to consider more input parameter for the superstructure and on-board specifications then in the former calculation process according to ONR 305011.
