"Digitalisation in health - rhetoric & reality";
Talk: Issues of Assessment in Human Digitalization in Health Affairs (HDIHA), Paulanergasse 13/5 1040 Vienna, Austria (invited); 2019-10-08.

Using the cases of electronic health records and healthcare apps, this talk will reflect on the gap between the rhetoric about what digitalization can do for healthcare and the reality of trying to integrate these new technologies into everyday practices of both clinicians and patients, highlighting as well the limits of evaluation methods to understand this reality. Points will be illustrated by vignettes drawn from our own and others´ research, showing that digitalisation in healthcare is a complex socio-technical challenge and that designing and building good technology that `fits´ with practice is a challenge.
