"Entropy-landscape of hard ellipses";

English abstract:
Monte Carlo simulations are employed to analyze the phase behaviour of shape-anisotropic colloidal particles in two dimensions. Specifically I simulate elliptic and patchy elliptic particles. In order to evaluate the competition between energetic and entropic contributions in such systems, which will lead to different structural properties of the self-assembled particles, I calculate entropy alone for hard ellipses without patches in a first step. This topic- specifically the entropic landscape of hard elliptic particles in solid phases- is presentend in this poster.
