In my informal talk I will review some of the recent activities of our group centred around wave physics. In particular, I will discuss how shaping the wavefront of an incoming radiation field allows us to control the wave´s propagation through complex systems like disordered media. The central object we are working with in this context is the scattering or transmission matrix, which can be accessed experimentally through interferometric measurements. With the examples that I will provide I hope to point out interesting connections to the field of telecommunications.
