Methods for the condition based LCC-optimization of tram routes

Within the scope of a research project in cooperation with the Vienna University of Technology and Wiener Linien as operator of the Vienna tram network, a model was developed which determines a condition forecast for route sections on the basis of system data, condition data and operating data using machine learning.
As data availability increases, the model can be extended by centrally available parameters and automatically calibrated at any time. Considering the operating difficulties due to slow-moving traffic, the renewal planning can be determined for any selected sections under the premise of optimized LCCs.
