English abstract:
AbstractA Discontinuous Galerkin (DG) approach forthe time dependent Maxwell equations is in-troduced, based on the covariant projection, oneach element of the mesh, of an orthogonal modalbasis ofL2(^K)originally defined on a referenceelement^K. This approach leads to an explicittime stepping scheme for which the the massmatrix is at mostd×dblock-diagonal (ind=2,3spatial dimensions) and other discrete bilin-ear forms involved in the scheme can be com-puted and stored only once on the reference el-ement. Open boundaries are also handled natu-rally in the formulation through a complex stretch-ing based approach
