"Uncertainty and Poetic Inhabitation: Or how to articulate chance";
Contour (eingeladen), 5 (2020).

Kurzfassung englisch:
The growing tendency to consider the world through the (scientific, artistic, and architectural) lens of complexity has had, as a corollary, a growing background noise composed many discourses that, playing into a technocratic ideal of control, conflate the notion of chance with that risk. This article speculates on the manners in which architecture could, on the contrary, affirm chance as a principle of invention. How could the beauty and harmony traditionally incarnated and conserved through regulated, invariable, orders, stem from the articulation of chance, by means of computational code? This paper will articulate the notion of architectural invention with that of chance, through a close reading of Henri Poincaré's Science and Method, in resonance with the rhetoric tradition, as well spoetic and musical strategies from the second half of the 20th century.
