English abstract:
The AHM 800-R is a formation rehabilitation machine from Plasser & Theurer which is used for the majority of track-bound rehabilitation projects in Austria. In the course of track maintenance, a new layer subballast is laid and compacted by six plate compactors. In order to increase the efficiency of the plate compactors, the TU Wien, in cooperation with the company Plasser &
Theurer carried out field tests on the compaction of soils using plate compactors. Within the framework of the investigations, the motion behaviour of plate compactors for different machine configurations is to be analysed in order to optimise the compaction effect in practice.
The focus of this thesis is on the data processing and evaluation of one of the field tests and the interpretation of the available measurement results. In addition, the crucial point of whether the motion behaviour fulfils the basic requirements for the development of a system for work-integrated, area-wide compaction control is investigated. For this purpose, the data from the field test is processed using MATLAB and evaluated in the course of a motion analysis. The motion behaviour of the plate compactor and the interaction between the plate compactor and the soil are analysed on the basis of accelerations, velocities and displacements as well as the soil contact force. The results show that the motion behaviour of the plate compactor varies depending on the operating configuration, but is reproducible throughout. This is a necessary precondition for the development of a work-integrated compaction control.
