English abstract:
This work presents a novel mechanical field weak ening technology developed for a multi-rotor permanent magnet
synchronous machine called the Planetary Motor. The Planetary
Motor combines multiple internal permanent magnet rotors in
a single stator structure with a common winding system fed by
a single inverter. The arrangement of the rotors in this machine
allows a new type of mechanical field weakening by turning
the rotors out of phase relative to each other to reduce the
overall induced voltage. This paper elaborates on the theoretical
background to this new method as well as measurements on a
prototype equipped with this field weakening method.
