P. Bilotto:
"Development and characterization of a molecularly tunable system for studying scale bridging of adhesive interactions";
Supervisor, Reviewer: M. Valtiner, W. Linert, H. Griesser; Institut für Angewandte Physik, 2021; oral examination: 2021-08-31.

English abstract:
The thesis reports about detailed intra- and intermolecular integrations on solid/liquid interfaces using a Surface Force Apparatus (SFA) together with the Atomic Force
Microscope (AFM) on biological or biomimetic surfaces. Microscopic and Macroscopic properties with effort to establish an energy landscape of the investigated systems where combined. The selection of various molecules and functionalities brought lead to significant advances reaching the overall goals of the research work.

Keywords:
Surface Force, liquid- solid interfaces
