The following thesis deals with the district of "Vallcarca" in the Spanishcity of Barcelona. Since then, the city of Barcelona has tried to "repair" the urban structureof the district, incorporating the opinions, ideas and ideas of the residentsof the district, as well as the immediate neighborhood, in order togive Vallcarca back its original identity.The following thesis deals with these topics.The aim of this work is to clarify the socio-political situation of the cityand the "barrios" with regard to the topics "identity" and "neighborhood".Furthermore, the historical development is shown in more detail in orderto derive possible future perspectives. A comprehensive, urban planningand socio-spatial analysis of the location is created, which shows the currentneeds of the residents of the district.This analysis serves as the basis for the urban design and its developmentof a so-called "Centre Civic" (translated: "Civic Center"). Identified, activatedspaces are to be created over architecture and new public space.Ultimately, the goal is on the one hand to restore the identity of Vallcarcaand on the other hand to (re) vitalize the "Barrio".

Die folgende Diplomarbeit setzt sich mit dem Stadtteil "Vallcarca" in der spanischen Stadt Barcelona auseinander. .Bei "Vallcarca" handelt es sich um ein sog. "Barrio", das von den EinwohnerInnenBarcelonas als "noch authentisch" bezeichnet wird, dies vor allemdeshalb, da es in diesem Stadtteil Barcelonas kaum Tourismus gibt. Die folgende Arbeit setzt sich mit diesen Themen auseinander.Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist zunächst eine Klärung der sozialpolitischen Situationder Stadt und des "Barrios" im Hinblick auf die Themenkreise"Identität" und "Nachbarschaft".Weiters wird die historische Entwicklung näher dargestellt, um darausmögliche Zukunftsperspektiven für das Viertel und seine BewohnerInnenableiten zu können. Es wird eine umfassende, städtebauliche und sozialräumlicheAnalyse des Standorts erstellt, welche die aktuellen Bedürfnisseder Einwohner des Viertels zeigt.Diese Analyse dient als Basis für den städtebaulichen Entwurf und derAusarbeitung eines sog. "Centre Civic" (übersetzt:"Bürgerzentrum").Über Architektur und neuem öffentlichen Raum sollen damit identitätsstiftende,aktivierte Räume entstehen.Ziel ist letztlich einerseits die Wiederherstellung der Identität von Vallcarcaund die (Re-) Vitalisierung des "Barrio".
