English abstract:
Tracking and tracing of objects have found widespread application in industry and logistics for the last decade. Profound information about the position and the status of an object allows better planning and scheduling, thus leads to more flexible processes, stock reductions and even new business models become possible. The implementation of tracking and tracing systems precisely enables also electronic monitoring of employee performance and behavior. Therefore, this study presents the differences and influencing factors of the behavior of employees when using tracking systems in working environments. This study differentiates between the tracking of objects and the tracking of employees because there are differences in acceptance and behavior between these two types of tracking. Therefore, qualitative interviews with experts in the area of tracking and tracing in working environments were carried out, to gain insights of the influence factors on employee behavior. Furthermore, categories that have impact on the employee behavior are examined in a model. These categories are experience, expected benefits, challenges and the perceived value of employees. The model can help using the positive possibilities of tracking systems in work environments and reducing negative effects on employee behavior.
