English abstract:
Duplex stainless steels, containing approximately equal amounts of ferrite and austenite matrix phases, show an attractive combinationof corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. However, technological limitations prevail due to decomposition of ferrite into sigma and secondary austenite, associated with considerable embrittlement of the material. Potential improvements involve the control of transformations by optimized thermo-mechanical processing. In this context, orientation relations (ORs) between matrix and transformation products were examined by electron backscatter diffraction of samples aged at temperatures 700°C and 800°C with varying aging times. The ORs were evaluated between austenite-sigma, ferrite-sigma and austenite-ferrite according to models of Nenno et al., Chen et al. and Kurdjumov-Sachs, respectively. This enabled us to elucidate correlations between orientation relations and transformation kinetics
