Kurzfassung englisch:
I will present our efforts to make the topological structure of exceptional points accessible in experiments involving suitably designed non-Hermitian systems. In particular, I will focus on two recent studies in which exceptional points are encircled with light fields in lasers [1] and in optical fibres [2].
