"Inter-and trans-disciplinarity risks in energy system transformation research";
Keynote Lecture: Lectures for Future, University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna (invited); 06-21-2022.

English abstract:
Technological progress holds promising potentials to tackle the climate crisis. Based on theoretical emission mitigation pathways, this talk will highlight pressing open questions focusing on the energy system and how it can be transformed to serve the needs of all people and coming generations. Some presented questions demand us to zoom out to address the bigger picture while building upon and refining scientific excellence in applying reductionistic approaches. This dichotomy induces collaborative but also cognitive challenges. At the same time, the interdisciplinarity risks we are thus required to take in energy system transformation research may turn out to be exciting opportunities for envisioning system change in a broader sense.
