Kurzfassung englisch:
In this work, we investigate downlink co-channel interference in a wireless cellular network. Our main target is to simplify statistical analysis in networks with regular grid layout. First, a novel circular interference model is introduced. The key idea is to spread the power of the interferers uniformly along the circumcircle of the grid shaping polygon. Then, we focus on aggregate-interference statistics outside the center of a regular grid scenario. We propose to model the interference by a single, distance-dependent Gamma random variate. The circular model is employed to determine the corresponding shape- and scale parameters in closed form. Its analysis yields key insights on the distribution´s formative components. Then, qualitative and quantitative measures are used to verify the accuracy of the Gamma approximation. A basic guideline for application and extension of our approach indicates that it considerably widens the scope of regular grid models.
