Kurzfassung englisch:
When modeling bubble collapse near solid boundaries it is essential to include the expansion phase in the model. Depending on the initial distance of a spherical bubble from a solid boundary either a "standard jet" with speed of the order of 100 m/s is formed, or a "fast jet" with a ten fold speed. Since the fast jet is "curvature induced" it is of interest, whether and to which extent the initial shape of the bubble influences jet formation. To this end, bubbles with spheroidal initial shape expanding and collapsing close to a solid boundary are investigated numerically. Jet formation is investigated as a function of the initial eccentricity and distance from the solid. Complicated transition scenarios between standard jet and fast jet regimes are expected.
